Areas of Practice
As you know, a significant power imbalance in employer-employee relationships exist. Karas mission is to enforce protections and hold employers accountable. If you are facing injustice in the workplace, Karas is ready to step in as your advocate. Karas advocates for clients interests assiduously.
Mediation is a voluntary process where a Mediator (i.e. neutral third-party) helps two or more parties resolve their matter in dispute. Mediation is an informal process that often helps people find mutually beneficial solutions. Karas is available to mediate (schedule permitting) at competitive non-roster rates.
Human Rights Is Karas' Focus - Karas is committed to challenging the status quo. "It’s evident, that the laws weren’t written for us." While, some protections have been included in Common Law, decided by Judges, it still remains important to codify, in other terms, include, protections in laws.
Other Areas of practice
Karas may give legal advice concerning legal interests, rights and responsibilities, draft or assist with drafting documents and negotiate on behalf of a person who is a party to a proceeding.
It's crucial that you are well informed about the pros and cons of initiating a civil action and the options (e.g. Negotiation, Mediation, Tribunal, etc.) available to you. Civil litigation is often complex and costly—Karas helps you stay two steps ahead by thinking outside the box.
